Momentus Hotels & Resorts evolves to cater to changing demands

Nestled in the heart of the medical hub in Novena is the recently opened Momentus Serviced Residences Novena. Its iconic location offers travellers easy access to medical facilities, shopping malls and Novena MRT Station, as well as the convenience of a classic ‘home away from home’.

Momentus Serviced Residences Novena is a subsidiary of Chip Eng Seng Group’s Momentus Hotels & Resorts, and was previously known as 12 On Shan. The building at 12 Shan Road was purchased for $86.5 million last year.

The property mixes 99 studio apartments and one- & two-bedroom units, occupying a total of 398 sq ft, 366 & 861 sq ft respectively. It also caters to lush green spaces, constituting 40% of the development, earning the property the highest points for greenery under URA’s Green Mark Scheme.

It is the group’s second property under its brand and its first-ever serviced apartment, with the first being Momentus Hotel Alexandra, located in Alexandra Central Mall at 323 Alexandra Road in Bukit Merah. This 442-key hotel was refurbished and rebranded last year.

In view of the rising travel demand and changing traveller preferences, particularly after the Covid-19 pandemic, Momentus Hotels & Resorts saw a great opportunity to expand its portfolio and cater to a broader range of customers. This is reflected in the serviced apartment’s amenities, which includes a swimming pool, fitness room, outdoor terrace, barbecue area and rooftop garden.

The brand also plans to expand its presence beyond Singapore, with six properties planned for the next three years. These properties will include a focus on sustainability initiatives and seamless integration of tech solutions, with the aim of achieving a minimum 70% occupancy rate by the end of the year.
