The 448-unit development comprises 16 five-storey blocks and offers a range of two- to four-bedroom units, starting from 646 sq ft to 1,528 sq ft. All units were fully sold within two years of its launch in 2021, fetching an average price of $1,446 psf.

Lim Koon Park, founder of architecture firm Park + Associates and one of the judges of the EPEA this year, commended The Watergardens for its clever use of landscaping. “Instead of large communal areas, the development features smaller pockets of activities and social spaces, catered to different lifestyles and needs. It’s not just one big theme park for people to have fun, but a series of differentiated experiences under one roof,” says Park.

According to the judges, The Watergardens at Canberra stood out due to its seamless combination of water, greenery and architecture, emphasising the resort-style living while catering to different lifestyles and needs of its residents. This unique design vision has earned it praise and recognition from industry experts and consumers alike.

Located within the relatively new Canberra estate in District 27, The Watergardens at Canberra is surrounded by amenities such as malls, recreational facilities and the nearby Canberra MRT Station. Other amenities close to the 99-year leasehold condo development include Canberra Plaza, Northpoint City, Sun Plaza, Sembawang Hot Spring Park and Sembawang Park.

Lim commended the developers, United Venture Development, for creating a comfortable and peaceful environment within the development. “I’ve seen many projects with a lot of facilities, but it becomes a noisy, crowded place, and people start to use their facilities only at night because they don’t want to be seen,” he says.

“That’s not what I want to see. The Watergardens at Canberra perhaps offers not as many facilities as other developments, but the entire environment feels good,” Lim adds.

The units at The Watergardens at Canberra feature a wide range of configurations and sizes, to cater to different user’s needs. The two-bedroom units cover 678 sq ft, with two-bedroom premium and plus study units starting from 721 sq ft and 797 sq ft, respectively. Meanwhile, three-bedders span from 904 sq ft with three-bedroom-plus-study layouts at 1,012 sq ft.

The interiors of the units feature a meticulous attention to detail, with a cool colour palette for two-bedroom units and warm tones for bigger units, tailored to suit different buyer profiles. The main living areas feature flooring with a marble effect, while the bedrooms have a timber-looking finish. In the master bathrooms, curved mirror features add a subtle elegance.
