At a newly-opened Pan Pacific Orchard, EdgeProp Singapore conducted its 7th annual EdgeProp Excellence Awards (EPEA) luncheon and dinner on October 6. It was a momentous evening, with special guests such as Minister for National Development & Minister-in-charge of Social Services Integration, Mr Desmond Lee, to mark the occasion.

This year’s theme of ‘Sustainable Spaces’ was widespread during the celebrations, as seven awards were given to those in the Uncompleted Residential category. City Developments, GuocoLand, and UOL Group each won more than seven awards, demonstrating their success during the real estate industry’s extremely challenging period.

The gala dinner recognised the outstanding achievements of property developers and their developments that have helped set a benchmark of excellence in Singapore’s real estate industry. During his opening address, Minster Lee emphasised the importance of the theme, as net-zero emissions by 2050 is an integral part of Singapore’s plan for sustainable development:

“Climate change is the most pressing challenge of our time, and the need for sustainable development has never been more urgent. We launched the Singapore Green Plan 2030 two years ago, in the midst of the pandemic. This Singapore Green Plan is a whole-of-nation movement to galvanise climate action.”

The dinner had 220 guests in attendance, sponsored by Geberit Southeast Asia, V-Zug Singapore, Mitsubishi Electric Asia Pacific, KPMG Singapore and CPG Corporation, plus Cosentino and Surface iD Studio. Awards were judged on six categories: Landscape, Design, Innovation, Sustainability, Showflat, and Marketing by a skilled panel, and an aggregated scoring system created by CPG Corporation was used to determine the winners.

The luncheon was the first dedicated EdgeProp Real Estate Salesperson Excellence Awards, which recognised the top transactors in the industry despite the turbulent economic climate. Chief Executive Officer of EdgeProp Singapore Bernard Tong spoke about this as he thanked the guests for attending:

“Elevated inflation and soaring interest rates, compounded by cooling measures and buyer’s fatigue, the second half of 2022 and 2023 have proven to be challenging and competitive to most in the industry…Adaptability, embracement of innovation and technology is the compass guiding firms to excel in this modern era.”

Congratulating the winners, Tong closed his speech with an optimistic outlook for next year’s awards:

“As we look towards the future, we do so with anticipation for the new heights you will reach and the new boundaries you will break next year.”
