Ura Launches Tender Next Gen Driving Centre Lorong Bistari
The Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) and Singapore Police Force (SPF) have announced a public tender for a new Next-Generation Driving Centre (NGDC) at Lorong Bistari, situated on the western border of Choa Chu Kang.
This upcoming facility will replace the current Bukit Batok Driving Centre (BBDC), which is scheduled to cease operations by the end of 2030 in order to make way for new residential developments. Spanning across a land area of 2.4 hectares and with a maximum gross floor area (GFA) of 780,390 square feet, the NGDC is envisioned as a state-of-the-art training hub for all types of vehicles.
According to URA, the NGDC will boast intelligent driving circuits, simulator-based training, and real-time monitoring systems to enhance driver assessment and safety. It will also cater to Class 4 and 5 heavy vehicle training, complementing the Singapore Safety Driving Centre (SSDC), which is currently the only facility offering these courses.

“As land use intensifies, multi-storey training centres like the NGDC are a reflection of Singapore’s approach to reimagining essential infrastructure for the future,” notes Ang Li Wen, Group Director of Physical Planning at URA. “It’s about striking a balance between innovation and efficient use of land.”
The tender is set to close on January 15, 2026 at 12pm.
