Minor Hotels extends Avani brand to Europe and Latin America

Minor Hotels, a Bangkok-headquartered international hotel owner, operator, and investor is expanding its presence in Europe and Latin America with the goal of targeting millennial-minded travelers through its lifestyle brand Avani Hotels & Resorts. Avani Hotels & Resorts, launched in 2011, currently has 38 properties in 20 countries across Asia, Australasia, the Middle East, Indian Ocean and Africa.

In Europe, Minor Hotels is launching five new properties within the next two years. The 101-room Avani Alonso Martinez Madrid Hotel in Spain, 65-room Avani Palazzo Moscova Milan Hotel and 144-room Avani Rio Novo Venice Hotel in Italy, and 256-room Avani Frankfurt City Hotel in Germany will all be rebranded to the Avani brand. The brand will be further extended to the Netherlands with the 163-room Avani Museum Quarter Amsterdam Hotel, opening in 2Q2024.

The group’s expansion into Latin America will begin in Mexico with the 140-room Avani Cancun Airport Hotel launching in 3Q2023. This will be followed by the 66-room Avani Royal Zona T Bogota Hotel in Colombia, planned to open in 4Q2023.

Dillip Rajakarier, CEO of Minor Hotels, said the expansion and diversification of the Avani brand’s footprint into Europe and Latin America “reflects the group’s strategy of expanding its hotel offerings in the upscale tourist segment.” This strategy is in line with Minor Hotels’ overall goal of having more than 530 hotels in operation.

By targeting millennial-minded travelers, Minor Hotels is setting itself up for further expansion and success in the near future. This extended global reach will help the Avani Hotels & Resorts brand gain more international recognition and continue bringing in a larger clientele base.
