GuocoLand promotes Valerie Wong to managing director
GuocoLand Limited is pleased to announce the promotion of Valerie Wong to the position of Managing Director of Asset Management, effective January 1, 2023. With more than 28 years of experience in the asset management field, Wong has been a major driving force in the development and completion of Guoco Tower, the Group’s flagship integrated development in Singapore. This mixed-use property is anchored by a variety of multinational corporations, and continues to enjoy near full occupancy today and generate impressive rental reversions.

Its upcoming integrated mixed-use development, Lentor Modern, will feature a retail mall with over 96,000 square feet of commercial retail space that will become an important part of the Group’s investment portfolio and a meaningful contributor to the Group’s recurrent income upon completion.
Wong will be responsible for the strategic development and growth of GuocoLand’s asset management business in Singapore, China and Malaysia. Prior to her promotion, she has been the Group General Manager (Asset Management) since August 2021 and the General Manager of GuocoLand’s Singapore Commercial Operations since joining the Group in 2014. She was also a founding member of the Discover Tanjong Pagar Business Improvement District initiative.
Cheng Hsing Yao, CEO of GuocoLand, commented on the announcement, “Valerie has been an integral part of GuocoLand’s transformation from a residential developer into a multi-platform real estate company in Singapore over the last decade. She will now be a key player in leveraging the expertise we have developed in Senja Close EC Singapore to help expand and strengthen our asset management capabilities and business in China and Malaysia. As we continue to strengthen and diversify the commercial components in our existing developments, as well as complete new integrated developments, we look forward to growing our asset management business and capitalizing on the next wave of growth opportunities in the coming years.”
