Debut of first Edition hotel in Singapore and Southeast Asia

The Singapore Edition – the first in the nation and Southeast Asia is now open for business as of Nov 9. The hotel is managed by Marriott, which holds the title of the world’s largest hotel chain, consisting of 31 varied brands. The luxury lifestyle brand Edition is a partnership with American hotelier and real estate mogul Ian Schrager.

Spanning 6 floors, the 204-room Singapore Edition hotel is part of the larger redevelopment of the Boulevard Hotel, a project consists of a consortium of Singapore tycoon Kwek Leng Beng’s Hong Leong Holdings, Singapore-listed property group City Developments (CDL) and Schrager’s Lea Investments. The architect for this project is Moshe Safdie of Safdie Architects and Singapore-based DP Architects. Furthermore, Safdie is also well-known as the architect of two more local landmarks, Marina Bay Sands and Jewel Changi Airport.

The hotel lobby features a white-marbled, gold-leaf-covered dome ceiling. Its double frontage along Orchard Boulevard and Cuscaden Road in prime District 10 grants it superb access. On the other hand, the luxury residences Boulevard 88 stands proud at 28 storeys.

The hotel was masterminded in collaboration with Hong Kong-based interior design firm Cap Atelier, helmed by renowned American hotelier Ian Schrager. Its event spaces include an 872 sq ft boardroom adjacent to the 6,458 sq ft event gallery that can host up to 340 guests. It can also be divided into three smaller rooms.

Fysh, a seafood-focused steakhouse created by celebrated Australian chef Josh Niland, is located on the first floor. An indoor conservatory, main dining area, and outdoor pergola for 44 diners give guests a variety of dining options. Right next door is the signature Punch Room bar.

A 43m swimming pool and landscaped garden feature even further up at the Roof Bar. The tiled base of the pool includes a transparent oculus allowing swimmers to catch a glimpse of the courtyard garden nine floors below.

A range of amenities are also available for guests. These include: a spa with seven treatment rooms, a gym, his and her changing suites, sunken vitality thermal pools, an ice fountain, a relaxation lounge, a sauna and steam room.
