Galven Tan, whose departure from Savills Singapore was announced on Nov 7, was the deputy of managing director at the investment sales and capital markets firm. Despite COVID-19’s tough period, the team led by Jeremy Lake and Galven had achieved significant performance goals. Marcus Loo, Savills Singapore CEO, thanked Tan for his contribution when speaking on Tan’s departure from the firm.

Commenting on his move to another property consultancy, Tan stated that he had thoroughly enjoyed his time at Savills and expressed regret for his departure. Reports suggest that Tan is joining Knight Frank Singapore as the new CEO, but he declined to comment on the speculation.

The post had been vacant since Wendy Tang left the company in June 2022. At the time of her departure, Knight Frank declared that they would be engaging in a recruitment process to appoint a new group managing director. This decision was made 17 months ago and is yet to be fulfilled.

Tan joined Savills in November 2019 after 15 years at CBRE, where he was the executive director of capital markets. Alongside him, Jeremy Lake and two other colleagues from CBRE’s investment team, Yap Hui Yee and Sophia Lim, also made the move to Savills.

During his time with Savills, Tan was involved in many important deals such as the collective sale of Tanglin Shopping Centre for $868 million, the sale of Flynn Park condo for $371 million, and the sale of Thiam Siew Avenue sites for $815 million. He was also behind the sale of the four strata-titled office levels at Solitaire on Cecil, totalling to a price of $162.8 million.

Despite Tan’s departure, Jeremy Lake is assured that his team will remain focused and busy on numerous active projects. He also expressed confidence in his colleagues, citing his colleague Hui Yee and Sophia to take over the responsibility that Galven leaves behind.
