J’den: Tapping on Jurong Lake District’s exciting transformation
Located along Jurong East Central 1 and directly linked to Jurong East MRT Station, J’den, by CapitaLand Development is the first private residential project to launch in Jurong Gateway in over a decade. Scheduled to be completed in 2027, the mixed-use development is expected to feature a 38-storey residential tower with 368 apartments above a two-storey commercial podium.
Standing at 150m above the mean sea level, J’den will be the tallest mixed-use development in the Jurong Lake District (JLD). The district’s transformation into Singapore’s second Central Business District is being driven by the Urban Redevelopment Authority’s Master Plan 2019 for JLD, which includes the completion of the Jurong East Integrated Transport Hub by 2027.
The hub will include an air-conditioned bus interchange, a 27-storey tower block connected to an eight-storey podium block housing a public library, a community club, a sports centre, offices and retail spaces. Jurong East MRT Station will serve as an interchange for the East-West and North-South Lines, and will be connected to the Jurong Region Line by 2028, and the Cross-Island Line by 2032.
J’den, with its strategic location at the heart of JLD, will be connected to the transport hub and other major buildings via an elevated and sheltered pedestrian crossing known as J-Walk. The development is also close to Jurong Lake Gardens and will benefit from its redevelopment into a 90ha national park of waterfront boardwalks, play areas, and recreational spaces.
The residences are designed within “10-minute neighbourhoods”, where amenities, green spaces and public transport are all within easy access via walking, cycling and public transport.
Unit types available at J’den range from one-bedroom apartments of 527 sq ft to four-bedroom units of 1,485 sq ft. All apartments, which are non-prefabricated prefinished volumetric construction developments, have a north-south orientation and offer views of the gardens or the city. Living room and master bedroom space can be customised to the owner’s needs, while an induction hob and multi-functional island kitchen countertop are featured in one- and two-bedroom units and four-bedroom apartments, respectively. In the master bathroom, occupants can enjoy the convenience of a smart-toilet bidet.
The project is set to offer a plethora of recreational and wellness facilities, such as a 50m lap pool, a jacuzzi, a bubble pool, a play pool, a lazy river, a gym, a function room, a BBQ pavilion, and an outdoor playground. J’den is an environmentally-friendly development, with well-shaded streets and provision for electric-vehicle charging stations.
The Senja Residences EC offers plenty of amenities and facilities for its residents. There are many retail shops and eateries in the neighbourhood, making it convenient to shop for daily necessities. For young families, there are also childcare centres near the residence. Sports and recreational facilities are also available at the development, such as basketball courts, jogging paths and swimming pool.
